Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking to add exceptional archaeologists and cultural resource specialists to our Colorado team. Candidates that strive for excellence in their day-to-day work, scientific practice, and careers; as well as those individuals that are interested in continuing to expand their scientific knowledge through collaboration and continued learning will integrate well into our cultural resources team and overall environmental services practice. Our team members spend time in both a field and office setting. Our field work includes pedestrian survey, site evaluation and significance testing, field artifact analysis, data recovery, and construction monitoring, among other tasks. Office work includes regulatory permitting efforts, records research, production of Section 106 of the NHPA and NEPA compliant reports and site forms, artifact and data analysis, and other pre- and post-construction compliance documents. Our team in Colorado routinely encounters a wide variety of cultural resources in the field-from prehistoric and historic subsurface sites to industrial archaeology and Tribal resources. When we are at our computers, we interpret and analyze the data collected in the field and use those data to prepare cultural resource reports and study plans, mitigation and monitoring plans, cultural resource sections of environmental documents, regulatory permit applications, and other scientific reports as needed. Our Colorado archaeologists are supported by a dynamic group of senior experts locally and nationally that bring a diverse range of expertise critical to our commitment to excellence. While our team is focused locally and regionally, HDR's cultural resources nationwide practice provides opportunities to work on projects throughout the United States and overseas. If this sounds like you, and you have the skills and experience outlined below, we look forward to talking with you. To support technical excellence in the cultural resource practice and professional advancement, HDR provides financial support for presentations and publications through the Technical Publications Program. Besides travel and expenses, this includes a stipend for presentations at approved national conferences and publication of articles in approved journals.
