The Role:

Our facility in Burnet, TX is seeking a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Engineer. This position requires a willingness to learn and the desire to meet and exceed expectations. Ideal candidates are extremely detail-oriented and laboratory familiar analytically-minded individuals, with ability to cross-analyze data and functionality between the LIMS user interface and its underlying data source.

This position is based in Burnet, TX. We will also consider remote based candidates with the right background and experience.

What You'll Do:

  • LIMS project related work including and not limited to; feasibility, design, development, qualification, testing, deployment, and hypercare of system functions, workflows and routines
  • LIMS System troubleshooting, maintenance, debugging of production and R&D workflows
  • Working with cross-functional teams from the laboratory, quality and manufacturing to understand and develop lab process to LIMS process flows, requirements and deliverables for LIMS
  • Documenting of basic lab process flow and data processing steps, calculations and details relating to LIMS product and analyses setup, work instruction and standard operating procedure authoring relevant and related to LIMS and lab systems/data process
  • Translation of lab process flow into useable code and system configuration
  • LIMS user access and account setup, system error handling and user issue resolution
  • Project goal and deliverable progress tracking and updating
  • Attending required and relevant meetings via zoom or in person
  • On site work and intermittent travel may be required as needed - will be determined by proximity and practicality

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory or Computer Sciences or equivalent LIMS experience required
  • Develop and maintain a high level of LIMS product knowledge expertise, including new product development, revisions and releases; Certified LIMS Administrator Labware or Sample Manager preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in LIMS software and data solutions to meet ongoing laboratory requirements; SampleManager and/or Labware software experience preferred
  • Analytical testing experience preferred
  • Programming Experience with VGL, C#, Jscript, VB, C, PASCAL or other Programming languages and ability to learn new proprietary languages
  • Experience with SQL database including writing SQL statements and database/database application architecture
  • Experience working on parallel LIMS projects and long term configuration/systems administrative goals
  • Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, debugging and correcting systems and software technical issues (e.g. resolving bugs and LIMS outages)
  • Experience integrating instruments with the LIMS product
  • Experience with LabStation instrument data capture capabilities
  • Understanding of laboratory functions and workflows
  • Familiar with analytical instruments and methods
  • General understanding and functional knowledge in product development, quality assurance, product monitoring, and quality control testing
  • Experience with Instrument Data parsing and understanding of instrument data file formatting and use
  • Understanding of System integrations and data flow through systems
  • Experience with Standards and Reagent templates and general standards and reagents workflows
  • Understanding of laboratory KPI's & metrics and ability to understand and configure PowerBI reporting dashboards preferred
