A Brief Overview
As the AVP Digital Transformation, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading our organization's digital transformation efforts. Collaborating closely with executive leadership, you will drive the development and execution of a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with our mission, enhances operational efficiency, improves patient outcomes, and supports research and education. Your leadership will be instrumental in leveraging emerging technologies and fostering a culture of innovation, ensuring we remain at the forefront of healthcare digitization.

What you will do
  • Develop and implement a holistic digital transformation strategy, aligning with the organization's strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Lead the assessment of current digital capabilities and identify opportunities for enhancement and optimization across all aspects of the organization, including software development processes and practices.
  • Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and design-thinking principles to ensure iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the integration of cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT), through effective software development practices to improve patient care, operational efficiency, research capabilities, and educational offerings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from clinical, research, and education departments to identify digital needs, prioritize initiatives, and ensure seamless integration of digital solutions into existing workflows. Facilitate workshops and design sprints to gather requirements, generate innovative ideas, and validate solutions.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance for the development and implementation of enterprise-wide digital initiatives, ensuring efficient software development practices, such as agile methodologies, are followed. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and rapid prototyping.
  • Champion the adoption of user-centric design principles, working closely with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) designers to ensure digital solutions are intuitive, accessible, and meet the needs of diverse end-users.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of digital initiatives, such as development velocity, product quality, and user satisfaction. Regularly report progress to executive leadership and identify areas for improvement.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and digital fluency throughout the organization, promoting continuous learning, collaboration, and experimentation. Encourage cross-functional teams to embrace agile methodologies and leverage design-thinking principles for problem-solving and innovation.
  • Collaborate with DTS and cybersecurity teams to ensure robust digital infrastructure, data privacy, and security measures are in place. Incorporate secure coding practices and conduct regular security assessments to protect sensitive information.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in the healthcare industry, identifying opportunities for innovation and providing thought leadership to executive leadership. Promote the adoption of emerging technologies through strategic partnerships and collaborations with external organizations.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer science, information technology, business administration, or similar field of study. Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
  • At least ten (10) years Prior experience developing and leading digital transformation programs that achieve meaningful ROI at scale in large, complex, organizations. Required
  • Prior experience with leading digital transformation efforts and/or innovation programs at scale using innovative methodologies (design thinking, agile, journey mapping, design sprints) Required
  • Prior experience with product management; leading and developing digital products and product management teams. Required
  • Prior experience leading software engineering, application development, UI/UX (user experience design teams) Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Proven track record of successfully leading digital transformation efforts in a complex organization, leveraging software development, agile methodologies, and design-thinking principles. (Preferred proficiency)
  • In-depth knowledge of digital technologies, including telehealth, EHR systems, analytics platforms, mobile health applications, and emerging technologies in the healthcare space. Familiarity with software development practices, DevOps, and cloud computing is highly desirable. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Experience leading software development teams and driving agile methodologies, ensuring iterative development, rapid prototyping, and continuous improvement. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to create a collaborative and innovative work environment. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Strategic mindset with a forward-thinking approach to identify opportunities and drive organizational change through digital enablement. Ability to prioritize initiatives based on business value and impact. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align digital initiatives with organizational goals and drive return on investment. Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships to support digital initiatives. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, data privacy, and security requirements, including HIPAA and other relevant industry standards. Knowledge of compliance requirements related to software development and data protection. (Preferred proficiency)
  • A passion for innovation, emerging technologies, and the transformative power of digital solutions in healthcare. Continual learning mindset and a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in digital transformation and software development. (Preferred proficiency)
