POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Assistant under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, assists in the treatment and care of patients in the pre procedure and the post procedure phase of their treatment. Assist with patient intake for surgery, clean and prepare patient bays, stock patient bays, transport patients to vehicles for discharge, order supplies, and help with flow of daily surgical schedule.

Need a tech to assist in operating room, anesthesia supplies and materials management.

Must have great communication skills, interpersonal skills, and willing to be flexible to the demands of the operating room.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School graduate or equivalent.

One year patient care experience preferably in a hospital setting.

REQUIRED LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Prefer CNA license also willing to train

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Functions within the position description and within the scope of employee/patient relationship.
  • Participates in opportunities of continuing education.
  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co-workers, and other health team members.
