POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager - Operations reports to the Director - Operations and provides supervision and direction to Location employees ensuring safe and effective pipeline and compressor facility operations consistent with company policies and procedures and government regulations. Works with area management to establish and monitor work group goals, operations and maintenance budgets, and small capital project scopes and budgets. Provides and coordinates emergency response and first line of contact for customers, landowners, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide the safe direction to employees regarding pipeline and compressor facility operations consistent with company and governmental requirements.
  • Develop LO/TO and gas handling procedures for maintenance and construction projects.
  • On-Call 24/7 for emergencies or operational assistance.
  • Establishes and measures work group goals and performance.
  • Conducts personnel reviews and oversees the career planning and employee development for those employees in the work group.
  • Responsible for adhering to operation and maintenance budgets and small capital projects along with helping develop operating budgets for prospective areas of responsibilities.
  • Provides guidance to work group in establishing daily and weekly priorities.
  • Assures the work group has the resources and information to make informed decisions regarding day to day operation of facilities in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as the first line of management contact for customers, landowners, and the public.
  • Assures any issues identified by these groups are conveyed to senior management and/or addresses them locally.
  • Enforces company policies and procedures and ensures operations are maintained as required.

Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The
requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or experience in lieu of degree.
  • 8+ years of related pipeline industry experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must reside within 45 minutes of the reporting work location.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with the Federal Code of Regulations as it relates to Natural Gas Pipeline Construction and Engineering.

Working Conditions:

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Both office and field working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting, driving or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel will be required.
  • Required visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require personal protective equipment.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
