Job Summary

Reporting to theVice President, Information Systems & Technology, the Senior Data Engineer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing eMoney's internal data lakes/warehouses, data pipelines, and streamlining report generation for key stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include: serving as the technical POC for eMoney's Data & Analytics vendors, maintaining and administrating AWS environments, optimizing data flow, collecting specific data needs across our cross-functional teams and ensuring data is structured properly and efficiently for generating data reports in front-end reporting tools. This role plays a key part in helping eMoney to become more data-aware and centric as a company and enabling broader data insights across the Enterprise.

Job Responsibilities

Data Architecture and Engineering:

  • Collaborate with cross functional Teams to design and optimize data models and database structures.
  • Implement best practices for end-to-end data pipe management on various data lakes, warehouses and relational databases.
  • Work on data warehousing solutions running within AWS.

Data Pipeline Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.
  • Enable data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process.

Data Integration:

  • Integrate third-party data sources and APIs to enrich our datasets.
  • Enable processes for monitoring, exception management across end to end data pipe build to ensure integrity and reliability of data engineering solutions
  • Implement data connectors and data ingestion processes
  • Work on designing and defining new ways of data integrations while managing existing data integrations

Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines and query performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.

Data Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant data protection best practices and regulations.
  • Implement access controls and encryption mechanisms.
  • Contribute to data governance and provide input where necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer or similar data-oriented / architecture role.
  • Experience in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala required.
  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools
  • String knowledge of SQL and proficiency in working with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake) and associated AWS technologies (EC2, RDS, MySQL, Linux/Ubuntu, etc.) required.
  • Any specific certifications or additional qualifications preferred.

The salary range for this position is $117,000 - $149,000; commensurate salary to be determined based on skills, professional background and expertise. This position is also eligible, pursuant to applicable eMoney policies, for the annual bonus program, retirement contributions, health insurance, sick leave, parental leave and paid time off.
