The Administrative Officer 1 works under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of the Self-Insurance Division. Responsibilities include processing self-insurance applications, reports, and related documents, as well as handling Self-Insurance Guaranty Fund (SIGF) claims. Additionally, you will supervise clerical and management technician staff. The role involves participating in a team responsible for self-insurance applications and annual reports, overseeing SIGF case handling by the Third-Party Administrator, and maintaining an organized system to track open SIGF claims. The Administrative Officer 1 also plays a key role in claim discussions, mediation, and resolution, with authority for medical benefit payments up to $10,000 and claim settlements up to $25,000. You will be responsible for ensuring timely reimbursement from security companies and notify excess carriers of potential claims.
