Job Description




About the Role
  • Lead the development of operating plans/budgets & indirect budgets, and reporting performance to those budgets.
  • Coordinate efforts of all affected gdls locations in fulfillment of their plan targets.
  • Review and control program labor and cost objectives from each facility and compile in periodic reports, perform causal analysis of variances to program objectives and recommend corrective measures as required.
  • Coordinate multi-location direct labor standard hour content and actual hours reporting.
  • Prepare special studies and recommendations involving all levels of cost comparisons as impacted by direct/indirect labor, material, travel and ome.
  • Conduct studies as required evaluating the business base, equipment, tooling, and facilities to ensure that resources are available and in place to support customer directed business levels.
  • Monitor funding to ensure that the necessary resources are available within the approved funding level.
  • Develop manufacturing inputs into proposals, and support customer contract negotiations.
  • Work with manufacturing plant site leads to develop and execute continuous improvement efforts to include but not limited to the leveraging of new technologies and utilization of the ever-increasing real time digital data from the shop floor.
  • Support divisional alignment to contractural and regulatory requirements as applicable, and support government audits.
  • Development of plans, coordination, execution and the reporting of progress on those plans to ensure successful implementation of multi-disciplined projects within us manufacturing.
  • Oversee the u.s. manufacturing workforce planning data.
  • Support all us manufacturing program cost account manager(s). This will include all aspects related to the earned value management system.
  • Maintain data in oracle manufacturing module to support performance reporting.

Qualifications Sought
  • Undergraduate degree is required (4 year degree) - industrial engineering or finance degree is preferred.
  • Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to function in a team-based environment.
  • Comfortable briefing complex topics to high-level audiences, including top leadership at gd land systems, gd corporate, and vips from government / industry.
  • Must have a high degree of oral and written communication skills along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Understand the basic elements of business systems and ability to support the development of the operating budget, performance monitoring, and corrective action planning
  • Be familiar with the concept of learning curves and their applications as related to manufacturing, and experienced in performance measurement disciplines.
  • Sound understanding of industrial engineering practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Understand organizational responsibilities including gdls data systems flow and how that information is used to facilitate operations and inform decision making
  • Ability to decompose large amounts of data with ability to summarize outputs in methods that are easily understood
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufactuing principles.
  • High degree of p/c skills required. To include specifically microsoft project professional, excel, power point, oracle, power bi, cognos, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to freely move, and feel comfortable in a manufacturing plant.
  • Travel as required (less than 5%)
