THE POSITION

Carbon County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a highly motivated and organized Aging Care Management Supervisor to lead our dynamic team of professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

An employee in this position will advocate, protect, and promote a continuum of care designed to assist older adults in leading independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities for as long as possible. Work involves overseeing, supervising, and directing the Protective Services unit, including assigning staff caseloads and work assignments to maintain established policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure clients are receiving the best quality care and programs. Responsibilities include verifying Protective Service reports for accuracy and completion, testifying in court as needed, and participating in a rotating on-call schedule. This role requires adherence to all documentation requirements as outlined in the Protective Services regulations. This position gives you the opportunity to act as a client advocate in all matters.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Travel will be required, as needed.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in public or private social work; and a Bachelor's Degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Carbon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, or Schuylkill counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
