Scientist 1 - Solution Prep and Lab Support (Kenilworth, NJ)

We are looking to fill a Scientist 1 - Solution Prep and Lab Support position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Kenilworth, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Description: We are seeking a motivated candidate who can support the laboratory areas for our solution preparation team. The position will provide an opportunity for learning and development in a professional lab setting, contributing to development and commercialization of life-saving therapeutics. The primary responsibility for this position will be the support of the solutions prep team with secondary opportunities to support the purification team.

Responsibilities:

• Completes routine laboratory procedures of preparing various mammalian cell culture media and purification buffers following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
• Participate and closely work with process development scientists to develop and/or improve hydration procedures for complex cell culture media.
• Report results and maintains records utilizing electronic laboratory notebook (ELN).
• Routine maintenance of lab equipment. Calibrate balances and pH meters as needed.
• Track and document chemicals/media usage and inventory.
• Employs good housekeeping and maintains clean room to prevent contamination and integrity of production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 0-1 year experience in laboratory setting

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience working with stainless steel mixing tanks and single use mixers (SUMs) is a plus.
