DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Security Officer 1, you will provide enforcement of Department of Human Services and Danville State Hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations to safeguard the hospital and its property against fire, theft, and vandalism, as well as maintain a safe environment for consumers, employees, and visitors. You will complete a wide variety of duties and routines to include performing patrol duties on foot or by vehicle; completing incident reports and conducting investigations; and responding to fire alarms, emergencies, disasters, codes, and any bomb threats on campus.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM (2nd shift) or 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM (3rd shift), working every other weekend, with (2) 15-minute breaks. May change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime: As needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires the possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    1. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
