Job Description

Recently, EPA issued a primary drinking water regulation for six Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) and subsequently issued CERCLA regulations. Aqua NC owns and operates more than 700 public water systems and 58 wastewater systems. These facilities are impacted by both Federal and State regulations. Aqua has developed an innovative proprietary solution for PFAS treatment, and additional engineering support is needed to implement this solution at our North Carolina facilities. Continuing design improvements of this solution and the implementation of this solution for other pollutants is expected. This position will be directly involved with the design, construction, and project management of PFAS treatment systems and solutions at Aqua North Carolina's water facilities, and additional PFAS mitigation efforts due to future federal and state regulations under development.

This is a transformative time for public water and wastewater systems. Aqua is searching for the engineer who wishes to develop and implement solutions for real world emerging contaminant issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the North Carolina (or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date). A strong EI candidate will be considered.
  • Five (5) years' experience in water and/or wastewater engineering including both process design and project management

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or similar)
