(CSI) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the responsible citizenship, accountability, and well-being of individuals and families involved, or at risk of involvement, in the child welfare, juvenile justice, or criminal justice system. CSI understands clients and staff have been impacted by trauma. CSI is becoming a trauma-informed organization by hiring individuals with existing experience in trauma-informed practices as well as supporting ongoing staff development with trauma-informed practices. This will include learning to recognize symptoms of trauma and how to respond, through training starting at orientation and throughout their career at CSI. CSI is committed to systematically evaluating the integration of the trauma-informed values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment at all levels of the organization's policies, procedures, and structures to guard against the possibility of re-traumatization. Project Description:

Valuing Voices is a yearlong research project that will gather Santa Barbara County community feedback from the perspective of justice-involved individuals and/or victims, their families, and those who work with them to obtain information on opportunities to improve the delivery of services for individuals returning to their communities after a period of incarceration.

Position Overview:

We are seeking 8 individuals countywide to join our team as a Per Diem Outreach Facilitators and contribute to this impactful research initiative! No prior experience is required as training will be provided. This position offers flexible shifts tailored to the needs of our yearlong research projects, with up to 20 hours of work available per individual. We are looking for passionate candidates with lived experience in the criminal justice system to fill these roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in research activities under the guidance of project leaders.
  • Organize and maintain research materials and data.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for project enhancement.
  • Adhere to project timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying project schedules.

Hourly Rate: $26.45

Schedule: 8-20 hours per week *6-9 Months Contract*
