Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Planning Manager for Dayton Parts will report directly to the director of Supply Chain and will be responsible for developing ordering strategies within the supply chain organization that drive improvements in the procurement process. Through an optimized supply planning and inventory approach, this leader will create ordering and distribution strategies to optimize inventory health and ensure service levels exceed customer expectations. This individual is a critical member of the supply chain team and will work cross functionally with all of supply chain and product organization to generate desired planning strategies and lead initiatives that will optimize inventory positions and customer servicability. This position requires extensive analytic and material planning competencies.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage team of 4-6 Material Planners
  • Actively drives and champions the adoption of newly implemented system, procedures, and tools which drive process improvement
  • Develops and implements SOPs for material planning that enables the systemic improvement of the planning and supply chain organization
  • Create and deploy inventory strategies to increase service levels to customers to 95% while improving overall inventory turns
  • Develop and implement a planning parameter review process and work with all material planners across the organization to ensure acceptance and efficiency of the process
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in the supply planning process and order management release strategies
  • Provide visibility to projected service levels at a category level to the business
  • Monitor the demonstrated end to end supply chain delivery performance vs the system planned lead times and create actions plans to address gaps and implement changes when not achieving planned levels
  • Collaborate with demand planner to understand demand trends in order to drive actions around inventory replenishment and supplier capacity reviews
  • Manage supply chain performance KPI's like fill rate supplier on time delivery, and inventory turns and perform deep dives if targets are not achieved and create plans to mitigate gaps
  • Implement strategies and work cross functionally with the business units to drive improvement reduce the excess and obsolete inventory position

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and oral communications skills - including executive presentation skills
  • Strong ERP and MRP system experience
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large amounts of data is required
  • Solid understanding of inventory planning theory, methods and techniques
  • Demonstrated competency with cross-functional engagement and collaboration
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision- making skills
  • Excellent computer skills - particularly Microsoft Office applications
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.

Education And/Or experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with concentration in one or more of the following disciplines: Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Business.
  • MBA is preferred
  • APICS certification is preferred
  • 5+ years' experience as a supply chain planning professional
