Registered Nurse: Mother/Baby Unit | $30,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualifying candidates

Unit Description

This 42-bed unit provides care for mothers and their babies post-partum including C-section and vaginal delivery patients. The unit focuses on family-centered care. Mothers are encouraged to care for their babies in their rooms to support bonding and patient education.

Shift: Full-time, Nights

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

  • As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provisionof nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning asapplicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university or an associate degree with a minimum of ten (10) years' experience required. (In lieu of a bachelor's degree and less than ten years'experience, an associate degree in nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understandingthat the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a bachelor's degree program and must haveachieved the degree within 5 years.)
  • Basic Life Support
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department ofassignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from accredited college/university.
  • Previous experience on Mother/Baby unit, LD, NICU.
