Job Purpose:

The Director of Medical Strategy & Capabilities plays a key role in developing and executing transformation and organizational strategic capability building initiatives across US Medical Affairs. This role will work closely with the Senior Director of Medical Strategy and Capabilities and TA/functional teams to design, implement, and assess the impact of initiatives that increase US Medical Affairs organizational capabilities, transform ways of working, drive organizational effectiveness, enhance customer experience, and establish US Medical Affairs as a best-in-industry organization in a rapidly evolving pharmaceutical landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Senior Director and the Medical Affairs Leadership team to identify and assess the current and future needs and gaps in organizational strategic capabilities (roles, skills, processes, behaviors, technology, tools, etc).

  • Develop and execute strategic capability building initiatives that address the needs and challenges of the organization and support the USMA's growth and transformation agenda.

  • Develop and implement frameworks, methodologies, tools, and best practices that transform ways of working, increase organizational impact, or enhance customer experience.

  • Collaborate with the US Digital, Data, and Technology team; US Medical Analytics, US Medical Operations, and other enabling functions to inform and implement solutions that increase organizational capabilities in priority areas.

  • Develop and deliver communications and change management plans to support adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.

  • Assess the impact and effectiveness of organizational capability building initiatives, develop action plans to address gaps, and provide regular feedback and reporting to Medical stakeholders.

  • Establish and facilitate mechanisms for best practice sharing and continuous improvement efforts

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and learning across the organization. Encourage experimentation, feedback, and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and drive ongoing transformational change.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, health management, or related field.

  • 5+ Years pharmaceutical industry experience, with at least 3 years of medical affairs experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading and managing transformation and organizational capability building initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment.

  • Experience in transformation and organizational capability building frameworks, methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Project management, change management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively, and to translate vision and strategy into actionable plans and results.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with senior leaders, business units, and functional teams across the organization.

  • Ability to influence, inspire, and motivate others to embrace and drive transformation and organizational capability building.

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
