Job Description

The Regulatory Engineer II will be responsible for managing the aviation maintenance regulatory requirements of the Parker Lord 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station(s). They will develop, implement, and continuously improve company aviation maintenance processes, tools, standards, best practices, and lead associated training. They will interpret regulatory requirements and advise company personnel in matters related to aviation maintenance, certification, and policy interpretation.

* Responsible for the 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station overall compliance to the FAR's and all applicable NAA's

* Develop and maintain all applicable documentation to assure compliance to the regulations, including manuals, repairman licensing, 8130-3 process management, service difficulty reports, etc.

* Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain new aviation maintenance certification

* Monitor company policy and procedures to ensure compliance to the regulations and provide recommendations

* Assist in development and implementation of a Safety Management System for all required business units, including Part 21 and Part 145

* Represent the Repair Station in a professional manner and build corporate relationships with regulatory authorities (i.e., FAA FSDO/PMI/DER)

* Lead internal and external audits to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, including developing and coordinating corrective action

* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, maintaining NAA civil aviation maintenance certification, and/or participating in other professional associations (i.e., ARSA)

* Provide guidance and support with Part 21 regulatory engineer

* Make commitments based on customer need, resource availability and project risk; complete those commitments on time

* Complete key deliverables as scheduled

* Utilize LORD standard process and best practices to the fullest extent

Competencies

Required

* Strong technical written, verbal, and analytical skills

* High degree of comfort in presenting regulatory interpretation to various audiences from shop floor personnel to management

* Must work well in team-based environment as a facilitator and individual contributor

* Possess project management skills in relation to planning, managing, and closing projects

* Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

* Ability to manage very complex assignments simultaneously with good project management, organization and planning skills

* Demonstrated ability to use sound engineering judgment

* Continuing pursuit of self-development to improve his/her skills

* Demonstrated commitment to leadership within his/her team

* Ability to travel occasionally

Work Experience

Required

* 3+ years relevant industry experience

Education

Required

* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other similar Engineering field
