We are currently hiring a Conference Experience Design Intern to join the College of Engineering at CMU. The Intern will collaborate with the College of Engineering and the various Engineering departments within the college to conceptualize and execute a cohesive and compelling visual identity for the booth and accompanying components at the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) in Fall 2024. Dedicated to women and non-binary technologists, GHC gives Carnegie Mellon's College of Engineering a platform to attract prospective students with undergraduate degrees primarily in computer science and engineering; foster community for Carnegie Mellon University faculty, students, and alumni; and demonstrate our commitment to developing women and non-binary technologists in the engineering/tech space. The intern will work under a dual reporting line, reporting to the Director of Graduate Affairs in the College of Engineering Dean's office as well as the Head of Graduate Enrollment in the Integrated Innovation Institute, who serves as the chair of the College of Engineering Recruitment Committee.

  • Project Management: Adhering to timelines and deadlines effectively to ensure all design elements are completed on schedule for the event in September.

  • Feedback Incorporation: Gathering feedback from stakeholders and make necessary adjustments to designs to meet their expectations and objectives.

  • Virtual Experience Ideation: Translating the design concept to the virtual space to ensure maximum impact for those using this platform for conferences.

Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon. Inclusion, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity are valued competencies at CMU. Therefore, we are in search of a team member who can effectively interact with a varied population of internal and external partners at a high level of integrity. We are looking for someone who shares our values and who will support the mission of the university through their work.

You should demonstrate:
