Job Description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking an A/R Collections Team Lead in Hanover, PA. The A/R Collections Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of 4-5 Collection Specialists to investigate invoice and/or payment discrepancies, communicate with customers, and execute duties according to established policies, procedures, and protocols, in addition to performing collections efforts for customers assigned by the Sr Manager, Collections. The A/R Collections Team Lead displays and promotes integrity, confidence, respect, and a strong work ethic with the Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert for systems utilized in the Collections process, including the ERP, transportation management system, DSD sales system, cash application and collections system, trade promotion system, and PowerBI.
  • Develop direct reports with Training, Planning & Prioritizing Workload, Monitoring Results, and Improving Processes.
  • Coach team members and aid in developing necessary skills, offering feedback, and possible solutions.
  • Identify team members' strengths and weaknesses as well as areas of opportunity to improve on them.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication to customers and cross functional team members in Sales, Distribution, Transportation, Finance, etc.
  • Assist Sr Manager, Collections with developing and maintaining key reporting to assist the Collections Specialists in performing duties.
  • Field any escalated calls or questions and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Complete other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Accounting skills associated with 5+ years of bookkeeping experience; education may substitute for up to one year of experience.
  • Business mathematics skills normally associated with two years of practical experience or the successful completion of a business mathematics course.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • General understanding of the business operations related to the snack food industry.
  • General understanding of accounting principles, statements, and reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Business mathematics skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical, business process, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
