Position:Veterinary Technician Coordinator
Reports to: Dean, Health Sciences

Primary Job Duties:

  • In consultation with the Dean, prepare course offerings and schedules for full and part-time faculty in the Vet Tech Program.

  • Analyze enrollment patterns, and coordinate faculty availability, and room assignments with appropriate personnel.

  • Preside over area meetings.

  • Facilitate five-year audits for area.

  • Facilitate, in conjunction with faculty, the selection of textbooks.

  • Participate, when needed, in interviewing part-time faculty members.

  • Review course procedures with new hires.

  • Act as a resource and contact for part-time faculty members.

  • Budget planning for the program and use of department funds for Professional Development and Equipment needs.

  • Review/revise catalog information.

  • Hold Advisory Board meetings each semester.

  • Advise the Dean on any problems in the program.

  • Attend regular meetings with the Dean.

  • Assure compliance with Assessment procedures.

  • Prepare a year-end report of the area's activities.

  • Assures effective program operations through course evaluation, program assessment, employer and graduate surveys.

  • Conduct new student orientation.

  • Prepare and submit paperwork as required by CVTEA.

  • Order and stock Vet Tech instructional supplies.

  • In consultation with the Dean, secure clinical placements for Vet Tech students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

  • Licensed veterinarian or a credentialed veterinary technician who must be a graduate of an AVMA or CVMA-accredited program.
