ChristianaCare's Outpatient Heart Failure practice is looking to hire a Full time Medical Assistant.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering and maintaining quality patient care. Assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients. Cross covers check-in and check-out functions as needed.

Flexibility to cross-cover other specialty practices preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday: 8am- 4:30pm

  • No weekends or holidays.

  • One night per week of potential late hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in daily huddles for workload assignments and distributions with the clinic team.

  • Participates in clinical care for patients from a variety of clinical practices including Cardiac Surgery, Heart Failure, Structural Heart, and Adult Congential Heart.

  • Rooms patients to include taking and recording patient vitals

  • Performs point of care testing, accurate medication history, EKGs and pulmonary fluid monitoring as per practice needs

  • Assist clinician with examinations/procedures

  • Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment

  • Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork

  • Performs prior authorizations and referrals based on practice needs.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or

  • Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
