ATS Scientific Products is searching for a Buyer/Planner to join the team in our Warminster, Pa location.

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining a valid master production schedule for material and capacities by effectively balancing supply and demand for product, then fully owns driving the materials from the vendor(s) to the production floor in order to fulfill all customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a valid master schedule that is aligned with the operating plan from the Sales and Operations Planning process, and is the basis for detailed production schedules that are executed on the production floor
  • Coordinates and handles the flow of materials between production stages in producing SP products. Reviews production schedules and purchase orders to anticipate required material, equipment and supplies.
  • Executes purchase orders and drives vendors to fulfill the SP production schedule on time while minimizing on hand or idle inventory.
  • Manages communication of all production commitments to the stakeholders within the sales, marketing, service, and engineering groups. Maintains all metrics for areas of responsibility
  • Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material & capacity availability and order-promising integrity. Manage communications/escalations when demand cannot be met and recommend alternatives on how the requested demand could be satisfied.
  • Manage capacity planning on a weekly basis; maintain and update capacity data for all critical plant resources / work centers. Work closely with the manufacturing and engineering leader(s) to ensure all capacity and material constraints are managed to maximize the utilization of SP manufacturing resources as cost-effectively as possible.
  • Maintains scheduling and purchasing item attributes, such as lead times, lot sizes, prices, and cycle times. Liaises with engineering to ensure appropriate labor, machine, and scrap standards are used in material and capacity requirements.
  • Create and lead material strategies for all levels of required production goods (raw, semi-finished and expense). Acts as owner for all associated physical inventory and future inventory plans for responsible manufacturing streams and provides input to management regarding long term material issues that could impact corporate decisions.
  • Manage WIP variances at the work order level and work with manufacturing, production, and stores to ensure timely and accurate material management.
  • Additional Administrative Duties will be required on an as-needed basis.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of operations, scheduling and purchasing procedures, MRP systems and their processes, and supply chain best practices.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • 2+ years of supply chain experience within an MRP environment.
  • B.S. degree in business, management, or supply chain required. Equivalent experience and a combination of acceptable education/certifications may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • APICS Certification preferred.
