As a Transportation Technician, your role involves ensuring timely completion of plans and deliverables to meet project schedules by utilizing established project delivery processes and tools to minimize cycle time. Effective communication with PennDOT employees, consultants, and municipalities is essential to finish assignments on schedule and without significant errors, promptly reporting any potential project delays to supervisors. Enhancing project delivery efficiency and accuracy is achieved through proficiency in computer programs such as CADD, Excel, and Word, while performing technical drafting duties for various projects. Preparation of highway plans, design of minor projects, and completion of design assignments under professional guidance are key responsibilities, utilizing CADD software for calculations, alignments, and drainage parameters. Additionally, assisting in laying out grade lines, computing gradients, and completing specific tasks for minor highway projects, as well as conducting field investigations to address terrain, drainage, and design considerations, are part of the role.
