THE POSITION

The Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center provides end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), the Department of Aging (PDA), and the Department of Veterans' Affairs. The Database Management Section, within Technology Services Office (TSO) for HHS Delivery Center needs a motivated Database Administrator 1. You will support our database platforms that are critical to providing necessary services and benefits state-wide.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is responsible for highly advanced technical work in the management of data resources through the planning, design, implementation, protection and operation of database systems in order to provide quality, sharable, and accessible data for the HHS DC and to ensure the timely and confidential delivery of accurate data to authorized users.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time but must be able to be onsite upon request. Full-time telework status may change as per the Governor's directive. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration; or
  • One year as a Database Analyst or Information Technology Generalist 2; or
  • Three years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • One year of information technology experience in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time professional database administration experience working in an Oracle Real Application Cluster Environment.
