DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Clerical Assistant 3 role provides clerical and office support on a team within the Boiler and Elevator Division and supports other divisions as needed. In this position, you will:

  • Review and ensure correct information and fees have been submitted for incoming applications and then process them into our bureau database.
  • Process invoice payments researching the bureau's database and verifying the correct accounts with the payment stubs received from Central Collections.
  • Process correspondence for changes to owner, responsible party, and location information, as well as equipment change requests in the system which involves detailed file research supporting these changes requested by customers/inspectors.
  • Initiate in detailed research to respond to Right to Knows and subpoenas submitted to us for the Boiler and Elevator program areas from legal.
  • Assist the general public, as well as inspectors, in resolving invoice problems, address changes, certificate requests, scheduling inspections, and other items as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
