Job Summary:

Temple University, College of Education seeks a full time Intake and Training Specialist to support the Temple Cares: Bridge to Employment program. This is a grant-funded project and involves multiple stakeholders including the School District of Philadelphia, Lenfest North Philadelphia Workforce Initiative, PASCEP, OWL Collective, etc. This program supports a larger workforce development strategy for the City of Philadelphia with a goal of providing Philadelphia youth ages 17-24 with industry recognized training and credentials, as well as paid work experiences, that lead to long-term employment in the health care field.

The Intake and Training Specialist will work collaboratively with program staff and partners to develop and facilitate outreach and recruitment events, verify and document eligibility, and support qualified applicants to successfully complete the enrollment process. The incumbent will also plan and coordinate the 6-weeks summer boot camp, college tours and other events held on Temple University's Main Campus. The Intake and Training Specialist will leverage university and community resources to support the youths' assessment and enrollment, academic, training, and employment and, retention goals. The Intake and Training Specialist will assess participants' interests, education, and abilities to develop client-specific employment; assist with job placement and finding employers suitable for program needs. This position will report to Workforce Program Manager. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years directly related experience coordinating enrollment and training for grant funded programs serving youth in urban communities. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
