Job Summary:

The Casualty Claim Manager provides leadership and management direction to achieve efficient casualty claim handling and quality customer service for casualty claims.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop internal and external processes to mitigate the financial impact of workers compensation, products liability, general liability and automobile liability claims.
  • Manage TPA relationship.
  • Conduct periodic claim reviews with applicable insurers, third party administrators and insurance broker.
  • Work closely with Director of Risk Management to assist and support in the selection of appropriate vendors, and to conduct RFP's and renewals, as needed.
  • Work with Director of Risk Management to develop metrics to document results.
  • Create and circulate periodic internal reports as needed.
  • Assemble and provide documentation to external auditor to demonstrate procedures and controls.
  • Serve as the company's internal workers compensation expert and resource.
  • Provide training to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with EHS, HR and Operations teams to coordinate injury mitigation programs.
  • Review settlement proposals from TPA and defense counsel. Lead internal discussion with Director of Risk Management and Treasurer.
  • Review and payment of loss billings, including retrospective adjustments.
  • Maintain company records in accordance with document retention policy.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience as a casualty claims adjuster, insurance broker claims consultant and/or a risk management claims oversight role

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in the handling and oversight of multi-line and multi-state casualty claims.
  • Proficient in EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
  • Able to deal with frequent change, delays, deadlines, unexpected events, and competing demands for your time.
  • Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Establishes and maintains effective internal and external relations.
  • Uses experience to solve complex problems.
  • Focused on identifying opportunities, achieving positive results and seeking continuous improvement.
  • Some travel is required.
  • Full-time position with 100% in-office workday presence requirement (not a remote or hybrid position)
