DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role is within the Bureau Construction, Engineering Automation and Services Division, specifically in the Photogrammetry & Surveys Section. Your main responsibilities will involve creating digital topographic maps, digital orthophotography, and other geospatial products. These products are essential for the Districts' bridge and highway design program. To produce these maps and photographs, you will utilize various technologies such as imagery from crewed aircraft, Un-crewed Aerial Systems (UAS or drones), lidar, and other remote sensing technologies. You will also be operating complex softcopy stereo workstations and utilizing different photogrammetry and 3D modeling software packages. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to operate lidar equipment and UAS. Your tasks will include photogrammetric orientation, data compilation and editing, 3D model creation, and quality assurance/quality control of the final products. It is important to adhere to the standards outlined in Publication 122. Furthermore, you will evaluate new 3D modeling techniques and explore opportunities to support the Digital Delivery initiative.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant; or
  • One year of experience in the operation of stereoscopic plotting instruments used in the production of topographic maps or performing geodetic field surveys; or
  • An Associate's Degree in an appropriate engineering technology; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
