Job Description:

Process Engineer supporting manufacturing and test operations and equipment used to produce high reliability quartz crystal resonators and oscillators for military and space applications while driving throughput, scrap, and yield improvement activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Implement, Maintain and Improve
    • Process and Test Equipment
    • Manufacturing and Test Processes
    • Fixtures and Tooling
  • Develop and update documents to include:
    • Process instructions
    • Equipment operation instructions
    • Fixture and tool drawings
  • Daily yield monitoring with root cause analysis of failures and implementation of corrective actions
  • Active involvement in weekly cross functional team meetings to:
    • Drive yield improvements
    • Reduce scrap
    • Maintain production schedules and deliverables
    • Insure safety and work place organization through 6S activities
    • Eliminate capacity constraints
    • Improve production efficiencies
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to insure manufacturability
  • Provide training to production operators/technicians

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science plus 1 year of experience supporting manufacturing operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
  • Understanding and prior use of statistical analysis of data
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Prior experience leading improvement or development projects
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all individuals in the organizational structure
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with changing schedules and priorities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience developing technical documentation (SOP's, work instructions, etc)
  • Prior design, construction or manufacturing support of quartz crystal resonators
  • Experience with cryogenic and turbomolecular vacuum pump systems
  • PLC programming
  • Prior experience with evaporative deposition processes and equipment
  • Prior utilization of statistical software such as Minitab or WINSPC
