The successful candidate for this position will report to the Director of Student Success and work in collaboration with academic advisors, academic records, departmental administrators, faculty, financial assistance personnel, and student affairs personnel across the University to both proactively address and respond to obstacles and threats to student success. Duties will focus on coordinating services of student success, such as peer tutoring, management of undergraduate teaching assistants, facilitating workshops, and other student success outreach and programming.
Recruits, trains, and supervises peer tutors. Serves as the administrative point of contact and academic coach for academic training programs. Directs and completes probation review. Collaborates to deliver and develop seminars and resources.
Collaborate with SCI departments and programs to successfully delineate responsibilities for interviewing, training, and coordination of all undergraduate teaching assistants and peer tutors for SCI programs. Meet individually with students as needed to assist them in identifying and navigating any challenges to success. Assist students in developing self-efficacy; work with students to learn time management and organization skills; motivate students to practice self-regulation and take ownership of their academic success. Helps students in identifying, developing, and implementing learning strategies and study skills specific to course materials. Document interaction, follow workflows, utilize appropriate forms, and follow up-to-date SCI and University policies and procedures.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary.
