See Yourself as a Senior Benefits Administrator

The Senior Benefits Administrator is responsible for performing a variety of duties involved in the coordination, procurement, implementation, and administration of Radian's employee benefit programs and the Total Wellbeing program. The Senior Benefits Administrator administers Radian's robust employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, life, disability, 401k, tuition reimbursement, home ownership perks, fertility care, voluntary benefits, EAP, and wellbeing), provides guidance to employees in understanding the organizations benefits offerings and acts as a liaison between the organization and third-party benefit providers. This role will serve as the subject matter expert on the Benefit Administration system and will work in close partnership with the AVP, Benefits.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Benefit Administration:

  • In consultation with Radian's external employee benefits consultant, design, recommend and implement new benefit plans, as well as examine possible plan designs and benefits cost implications.

  • Provide superior customer service to our employees in assisting with their employee benefits and wellbeing needs; answering questions, helping employees gain understanding of our benefit offerings, and provides guidance to assist with enrollment and effective utilization of our benefit offerings.

  • Manage all processes in the benefit administration system including leading open enrollment, billing, payroll reconciliations, on-going enrollments and file integrations.

  • Serve as the primary contact for providers and third-party administrators for enrollment set up, ongoing administration, and billing.

  • Manage the ACA process for 1095-Cs, 1094 filings and enrolling newly eligible part time employees.

  • Complete benchmark surveys, analyze and interpret benchmarking data, and analyze utilization reports to provide insight and recommendations to our employee benefits and wellbeing strategy.

Leave Management:

  • In collaboration with our third-party administrator, administer and track all leave of absences including Family Medical Leave, Disability Leave, Military Leave, Workers' Compensation, and personal leaves, and coordinate the administration of any Short- and Long-term disability benefits.

  • Lead the interactive process for any ADA accommodation requests.

  • Work with People Business Partners and managers to explain FMLA, ADA, STD, etc.

Processes and Procedures:

  • Lead in designing processes to be more efficient, identifying process improvement opportunities and or technology automation.

  • Conduct orientation or enrollment meetings, advise on eligibility, costs, and coverage, and provide information for use in internal communications or presentations. Provide on-going support to employees and work to better communicate with the company at large on our expansive benefits offering.

  • Manage the Total Wellbeing program in conjunction with the AVP, Benefits by developing programs, facilitating engagement activities, and promoting the program.

  • Conducts annual policy reviews and responsible for making updates and recommendations for enhancements to company policies related to employee benefits and total rewards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Education and Prior Work-Related Experience:

Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Work Experience: 6 or more years of directly related prior work experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Six (6) years progressive experience in the administration, development and implementation of benefit programs including wellness program administration required.

  • Possess expert knowledge of employee benefits, benefit administration, and regulatory compliance.

  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing claim utilization reports including interpreting the data to provide a summary and trend information as an input into strategic plan design.

  • Experience working in an organization with a multi-state, national footprint with a highly skilled, geographically dispersed workforce is preferred.

  • Experience leading internal employee communication campaigns, employee training/education sessions, and wellbeing engagement activities is preferred.

  • Certification in Human Resources or Employee Benefits (GBA, CEBS, PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.

Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Years of Prior Work-Related Experience: 6 or more years of directly related prior work experience

  • Demonstrated ability to respect and maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information (documents, records, discussions, and other information) generated or disclosed in connection with job responsibilities.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Possess an intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to learn and expand knowledge.

  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects and tasks on a timely basis in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

  • Strong attention to detail; work accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed.

  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Expertise in employee benefits plan design and contractual structure of third-party provider agreements.

  • Expertise in all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers' compensation, and Medicare.

  • Maintain effective working relationships through strong collaboration, partnership, and teamwork.

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communication complex subject matter to a wide audience at various levels of understanding.

  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of Human Resources information systems and Benefit Administration systems, Workday experience is a plus.

  • Technical proficiency and aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
