Associate Director, Admissions and Enrollment Services



The Associate Director of Admissions in the School of Education is responsible for assisting in the development of strategic plans, establishing methods to implement initiatives, monitoring progress to achieve enrollment targets, and measuring outcomes.

The incumbent:

1) Develops and oversees the collection, maintenance, and accuracy and analysis of the data for potential students from all stages from inquiries through enrollment. The Associate director will expertly collect, manage, and analyze data extracted from PeopleSoft, Salesforce, or other CRM and the application system (Liaison) and develop charts, tables, reports, and presentations for the leadership team. Experience and expertise using common and advanced Excel features to display, manipulate, and analyze data. Has primary responsibility for ensuring that all staff use and enter data accurately and in a way that improves applications and enrollment;

2) Plans and executes recruiting events and activities to encourage and assist qualified prospective students to apply to and enroll in the School of Education;

3) Manages inquiries and develops interest in Education programs through networking, recruiting events, and individual contacts;

4) Facilitates ongoing communications with prospects through e-mail, telephone, print, and social media in order to counsel prospective students about their admissions options;

5) Assists prospective students in identifying resources available through Education and the University and determining which paths best fit with their academic experience and goals and;

6) Supervision of 2-4 administrative/professional and student staff by assigning and delegating tasks, providing direction, resolving issues, communicating job expectations, training, coaching, and developing professional development opportunities and evaluation.

The Associate Director must be educated about the academic programs, academic procedures, and admissions and enrollment processes and regulations of Education and other schools within the University. Acts as a representative of the School of Education and presents a highly professional image and demeanor. Has excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and is able to develop a rapport with colleagues, faculty, prospective students, alumni, and the community. Must be highly organized, proactive, organized, and take initiative to implement new and more effective processes to assist with the management of all parts of the enrollment pipeline. Must have a high level of expertise in event planning and execution. This position reports directly to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment. The incumbent must have a valid driver's license and be willing and able to travel 25%.

Strong analytic skills, strong skills in implementing and effective utilization of CRMs, PeopleSoft, Application Systems, and the collection and maintenance of accurate student data is required. Knowledge and experience in implementing enrollment management plans, tracking enrollment, and recruitment of both graduate and undergraduate students required.

Job Summary

Manages student recruitment activities as well as a student recruitment team. Develops effective programs and plans; analyzes prospective student admissions. Corresponds and meets with prospective students. Travels, as necessary, for recruitment activities and events.


Essential Functions

* Coordinates and participates in activities involved in the recruitment and selection of student applicants for admission.

* Develops and implements recruiting and admission plans and programs; participates in or oversees special project activities.

* Analyzes qualifications of prospective students utilizing established admissions standards, guidelines, and criteria.

* Corresponds and/or meets with prospective students, applicants, and others seeking information on admissions standards, academic and non-academic programs, and student activities.

* Determines appropriate recruitment event attendance. Travels as necessary for receptions, forums, and corporate presentations to enhance recruitment efforts.

* Prepares reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

* Supervises a team of student recruitment representatives.


Physical Effort

The incumbent must be able to use a computer and keyboard and be able to travel to on- and off-campus locations for recruitment. Verbal and written communication and presentation abilities are required. Most work is computer based, done in an office setting. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25lbs may be needed.
