The Sponsored Projects Administrator will provide professional level management for the post-award process of sponsored project and contract management in assigned department(s) within the Natural Sciences Division in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, Office of the Dean. This includes duties such as monthly reconciliations of sponsored project accounts, subcontracts and service agreements, no-cost extensions, material transfer requests, budget and award modification requests, salary and non-salary expense transfers, completion and processing of non-competing continuations, meetings with faculty to review their accounts, verification of salary expenditures and effort reporting on sponsored projects, expense projections, and account closings. Successful candidates must have excellent communication skills and a commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment. Candidates must have strong analytical skills and should be proficient using Microsoft Office software. Prior sponsored project experience and proficiency in the following programs is desirable: PERIS (Huron Grants), Oracle (PRISM), Panther Express, and PittWorx.
Performs post-award accounting duties for complex grants and contracts. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, resolves complex issues, and provides policy and procedure interpretation. Prepares complex government reports and reviews routine reports. Facilitates accounting techniques and procedures to improve operations. Assists with managing special projects and budgeting functions.
Will use a computer extensively. Must be capable of verbal, written, and electronic communication.
Position sedentary. Able to type for long periods of time (3-4 hours per day).
