Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design, is looking for a Rail/Track Engineer to join our team in Conshohocken, PA! Our design engineers apply engineering fundamentals for technical support of project design teams.

Our rail and transit systems efficiently connect people and freight throughout the country. Our rail engineers possess a broad range of experience from inside the rail industry and bring a clear understanding of the unique nature of railroad projects. We offer a full range of rail services to Class 1, short line, transit agencies, as well as Department of Transportation and other rail clients. Our professionals provide services for rail freight, intercity passenger rail, commuter rail and industrial installations. Our expertise ranges from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design, construction inspection and operations.


Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
  • Research and apply code provisions to design.
  • Create cost estimates for project alternatives.
  • Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
  • Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects.
  • Create 3D models.
  • Research design options and document findings for project engineer/manager.
  • Submit concept designs and work through approval processes such as permits from municipalities.
  • Work with senior engineers to create project designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • 1-4 years' experience in track design and railroad engineering preferred.
  • Candidates should be capable of becoming proficient in Microstation and OpenRoads.
  • Develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects is preferred.
  • Ability to create drawings from sketches is preferred.
  • Ability to ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
  • A strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
  • A team player and be able to work independently.
