Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Instructional Designer is responsible for analyzing learning opportunities, identifying objectives, developing and designing training, and evaluating effectiveness. In your role as a designer, you'll work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand the business need/s and provide solutions that educate and build skills of teammates. You'll also use methodologies to determine the appropriate format for delivery of content with a focus on retention of skill and learner experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identifying business needs through effective communication with a variety of stakeholders and business leaders then utilizing instructional design methodologies to solve the need.
  • Creating innovative learning solutions for all workgroups within MATHESON using delivery methods including but not limited to: face to face, virtual, leader led, online, self-paced, mobile and blended learning.
  • Staying up to date on the entire instructional technologies landscape, including how to leverage technology for best cost and best experience. Proposing new and creative ways to make learning more efficient, engaging and effective.
  • Evaluating learning effectiveness to demonstrate the business impact of all training programs and initiatives.
  • Project manage key initiatives from development through launch and on-going maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree Preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE
4-6 years Experience in instructional design processes Required
4-6 years Proficiency in learning design software Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to collaborate with all levels of leadership, high level of communication skills.
Understanding of instructional design process, ADDIE model.
Experience in use of Bloom's Taxonomy in evaluation of design to support learning objectives.
Proficiency in course development software.
