MHS is seeking a Supervisor, Hairstylist to coordinate and oversee the cosmetology and barbering services provided to the students in the School's Hair Salon Spartan Styles. The MHS Spartan Styles is a fully licensed salon and barber shop on campus with 12 stations that provides no costs trims, braided hairstyles, and other hair care services to 2100 + students (boys and girls) from Pre-K - 12th grade.

This role supervises a team of 10 hairstylists/barbers and manages all the operational and scheduling functions of the salon in addition to providing direct hair care services when needed. Also, responsible to train and educate the students to be self-sufficient with maintaining healthy hair and good grooming.

This is a year-round role with 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 11:00 am - 7:30 pm and on Saturdays from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm, as needed. Flexibility with the schedule to meet our students' haircare needs is crucial for this position. Hourly rate: $27.00 - $36.00, pay is determined based on experience. • Vocational or other technical school, certification, training, or apprenticeship required beyond High School Diploma
• Current PA State Certification/Cosmetology License required.
• At least 3 years' experience working in a professional beauty/barber shop required.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Demonstrated skills in providing haircuts and hair care to children and youth, including natural hair braiding and experience with multi-cultural hair types.
• Exceptional customer service and professional demeanor with solid time management & organizational skills required.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate in a diverse workplace and to interact professionally with adults, children, and youth.
• Demonstrated solid skills in effective records management, procurement of supplies and scheduling of students' appointments as well as staffing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft & Goggle applications, databases, and office equipment. Experience with Apple applications a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students
• Candidates should be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of the job responsibilities.
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.
