Job Summary

We are seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow to design and implement research activities for the newly funded Communities Advancing Science for Society (ComPASS) Coordination Center grant. The role of the Drexel ComPASS Coordination Center (C3) is to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of 25 Community Health Equity Structural Intervention (CHESI) sites across the country. We invite applicants to come and be a part of a school that is dedicated to advance public health as a human right, and an innovative initiative that aims to achieve health equity by supporting communities to devise and study their own solutions to address structural factors. The position start date is negotiable but should start no later than September 1, 2024. The Fellow will work under the co-supervision and mentorship of the C3 PIs, Drs. Amy Carroll-Scott and Jan M. Eberth, Chairs of the Departments of Community Health and Prevention and Health Management and Policy respectively.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure data quality and appropriate analyses per study design.
  • Draft manuscript, abstracts, and scientific posters as lead or co-author.
  • Draft and contribute to impactful community-facing and policy-relevant products and dissemination activities, including data visualizations, policy briefs, and other similar products.
  • Present research results at scientific conferences.
  • Assist with development of extramural grant applications and supplements.
  • Interact with faculty, students, and external partners as part of ongoing research studies.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings.
  • Co-mentor master's and PhD level trainees.

Required Qualifications

  • A PhD or Doctorate in Public health or a related field (e.g., social and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, sociology, demography, biostatistics, health policy) is required.
  • Experience with data management and analysis, quantitative and qualitative.
  • Strong oral, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management expertise or certification
  • Proficiency in SAS, STATA, R or another statistical software
  • Proficiency in NVIVO or other text coding software
  • Applicants who can work on location in Philadelphia are preferred, although remote work arrangements may be considered in special circumstances.

Additional Information

This position is classified as exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from a minimum of $41,120.00 to a maximum of $61,680.00. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
