Plant Coordinator

Reports to:

Plant Manager

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of planning and scheduling tasks as assigned

Primary Duties
  • Schedules Shop Floor product flow from Shears to Assembly
  • Updates Packet Map Locations frequently
  • Ensure ample, correct amount of WIP is ready for next 24-48 hours
  • Assist Manufacturing Supervisors with locating WIP to process
  • Verify steel movements are being done timely and logged appropriately. Escalate to Supervisor to follow up when the task is not being completed timely/accurately
  • Check steel availability for product and order if needed
  • Check capacity of machines and plant cells for production
  • Assign due dates to manufacturing orders
  • Operate SAP and/or AS400 system daily
  • Create production spreadsheets
  • Provide customer service by advising when parts will be available to customers
  • Assist purchasing department by making sure accessories are readily available
  • Order quench oil for heat treat operations as needed
  • Expedite emergency orders

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Good performance and safety records
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment guidelines
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools and other equipment necessary to complete assignments
  • Detail oriented
  • Possess good organizational skills
  • Ability to pass the motorized industrial equipment test and obtain operator's license
  • Physical Requirement: Must be able to properly lift, pack, stack and wrap up 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to touch, grasp, handle and feel items. Noise level is usually moderate to loud. Plant temperature may reach up to 100+ degrees during the Summer months.
Education And/or experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years of manufacturing/distribution planning and scheduling experience; or
