JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Quality Inspector


Department: Quality

Reports To: Quality Manager


Summary

The Quality Inspector has the overall responsibility of ensuring that our quality procedures and standards are being met throughout the production facility.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • The requirements for completing the quality check procedures in the Molding Department will consist primarily of four - full part inspections for all running machines, and four partial, visual inspections (checks will depend on production)
  • Conduct molding department first piece checks within 15 mins of receipt of email notification (when possible)
  • Conduct daily tensile testing on all automotive links to verify they meet mechanical requirements.
  • Conduct pitch testing of links daily.
  • Communicate deviations, concerns, process improvement suggestions to the Quality Manager
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation as instructed and enter data into manufacturing systems and/or databases.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic meeting the high standard required of all personnel.
  • Maintain quality of daily activities- (thoroughly investigates issues, uses sound judgement, etc.)
  • Investigate deviations/RGAs as they occur or as assigned.
  • Notify the Quality Manager and Production Manager of any deviations that will affect the assembly of and shipping of an order on time. (email address will be provided)
  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.
  • Ensures all quality procedures are followed and actively works to improve our quality program.
  • Follows all procedures & work instructions.
  • Works to maintain a clean & organized working environment (5s)
  • Work overtime when required and necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the US.
  • Must be an effective communicator.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Familiarity with MSOffice Suite
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Continuing Education through various training sessions and/or college credits

Competencies

  • Must be able to complete tasks effectively, efficiently, and accurately with exceptional attention to detail.
