Job Title: Account Manager


Summary: The Account Manager is responsible for serving customers by providing product and service information, resolving product and service problems and processing part orders through the system. This position is an integral part of improving our position in the industry. This position is also responsible for managing specific customer projects as required. This will be accomplished through external interface with the customer and internal interface with procurement, engineering, customer service, and operations departments.


Responsibilities: As the Account Manager you will:


  • Maintain superior customer service standards for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and End Users.
  • Manage pricing matrix, forecast, lead time, and help organize inventory reduction plans and strategies.
  • Review requests for quotes, create quotes, and enter customer orders.
  • Schedule orders to meet customer requirements while managing internal requirements through planning detail review, current demand evaluation, and business process and product knowledge.
  • Make informed decisions on the next course of action for short lead time orders, expedited orders & special product requests.
  • Determine delivery dates while remaining attentive to the impact that the decision provided will have on other customer orders, production and corporate metrics.
  • Establish RMA & RMA credit authorizations based on customer information & trained product knowledge while maintaining corporate guidelines.
  • Internally, manage the customer relationship for product deliverables.
  • Liaison for customer, engineering, purchasing, production, and finance departments & initiate departmental interaction as needed.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to meet United Safety's business objectives, including completing projects on time.
  • Jump at the opportunity to collaborate with peers on all activities as required to successfully complete end user projects.
  • Follow-up on product delivery to completion with targeted, agreed delivery points.
  • Evaluate and resolve customer issues related to product, shipping, warranty, or payment.
  • Provide feedback to United Safety on customer and product issues.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the organization's goals.

Requirements

You're a great fit for this position if this describes you:

  • Associate's degree in Business, Technical or Engineering with equivalent experience.
  • 0 - 3 years of experience in customer service in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and an understanding of ERP systems, Syteline preferred.
  • Excellent written communications skills, including the use of proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar to produce error-free copy, particularly composing letters, reports and documents used for decision making.
  • Outstanding Oral communication skills including tack and diplomacy which would be utilized during customer service, conflict management, development of relationships with internal and external contact.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including, analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making and carrying out assigned projects.
  • Able to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiar with general manufacturing concepts is a plus.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, under pressure with time constrains while responding and adapting to change favorably and quickly.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office is necessary; experience in an ERP used in a manufacturing set up is desirable.
  • Able to think out of the box and work without excessive supervision.
  • Fast learner with a strong work ethic.
  • Able to respond and adapt to change favorably and quickly.
  • Capable of light lifting of component parts and prototype assemblies when necessary.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions, directions and other communication in English.
