PRIMARY FUNCTION:

ChristianaCare is looking for a Full-Time Information Systems Coordinator who coordinates and facilitates all CBORD System and departmental information systems, serving as the technical coordinator and liaison between the designated health care system users, vendors, and the Information Technology department. Trends information technology for application maintenance and upgrades to enhance overall department operations. CBORD software experience is a highly preferred.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with kitchen, patient services, and cafeteria staff to understand policies and procedures to design information systems targeted to meet expectations and outcomes.

  • Participates in departmental information upgrades and changes pertaining to quality improvement.

  • Facilitates the effective use of current and future CBORD Information Systems: FSS, NSS, RSS, Patient App and Point of Sales System.

  • Designs, tests, implements, and maintains the Nutrition Services Data Base.

  • Participates in department inservices to maintain appropriate competence with all computer applications.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of technical terminologies and classifications as appropriate for the proper completion of job duties.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the field and makes recommendations for enhancement.

  • Works with the management team, system users, software vendors, and IT to improve user knowledge to meet the needs of the department.

  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards with any applications to the information systems.

  • Attends and participates in user groups and professional organizations to enhance professional knowledge of industry.

  • Manages and maintains departmental and CCHS hardware, software applications including Vocera, CBORD, and other information technology.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in accepting work assignments.

  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

SCOPE, PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:

  • Food and Nutrition Services, Information Technology, and various other hospital department staff, patients/families. Representatives of regulatory agencies and vendors.

DIRECTION/SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

  • CBORD Support Specialist and Food and Nutrition Service staff who utilize the CBORD system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in nutrition or Information Technology

  • Registered Dietitian preferred

  • Three years' experience in food and nutrition information systems preferred
