This position will support undergraduate Computer Science programs by delivering core computer science courses, including at least one within the topics of Computer Organization, Operating Systems, or Networks & Security. We encourage applications from individuals with expertise in any field of Computer Science, and we strongly encourage candidates from groups underrepresented in higher education to apply. Our department is collegial and collaborative, and we look forward to welcoming, supporting, and mentoring new colleagues in all aspects of their responsibilities.

This full-time position has a 6 course annual teaching load, which entails a combination of lecture and lab sections. While there are no specific expectations for scholarship or service, visiting faculty members are encouraged to participate in scholarly and service opportunities. This could include active engagement in day-to-day departmental discussions and operations involving curriculum, assessment, student well-being, outreach, and development.

As full members of the Faculty, visiting faculty enjoy comprehensive access to Bucknell's resources for teaching and learning development. Additionally, they receive professional development support, including conference travel and participation funding. This ensures that our faculty members have the opportunity to stay current in their field and contribute meaningfully to their academic community.

This role is an exceptional opportunity for individuals to hone their teaching skills in a nationally ranked engineering college at a highly selective, primarily undergraduate liberal arts institution. Each faculty member will be paired with a mentor to facilitate professional growth, providing individual support and valuable guidance on navigating the university's structure and higher education in general.

Application requires:
  • a cover letter
  • curriculum vitae
  • statement of teaching philosophy (3 pages maximum)

Your application should establish your interest in working at a primarily undergraduate liberal arts institution and how your experiences, knowledge, skills, or past accomplishments will contribute to the Department's and University's equity and inclusive excellence goals.
