Job Description

Overview
This role is responsible for developing and implementing the annual operating plan to drive key performance outcomes, overseeing day-to-day operations at a single hospital or across an assigned geographic region within Jefferson Health and working closely with regional leadership to execute strategic goals and objectives.

Major Responsibilities

  • Supervises local operational leaders at a designated facility/facilities in the region, removes barriers to execution, escalates key decisions as appropriate, and provides resources to enable service delivery.
  • Develops the annual operating plan and implements project plans with multidisciplinary teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), Operational Improvement (OI) initiatives, and Transformational Initiatives (TIs) within the assigned region. Cascades KPIs and goals to physician leaders, managers, and frontline staff to enable alignment. Applies change management techniques to achieve results.
  • Ensures the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relevant to operations in accordance with Joint Commission and Department of Health requirements. Applies standardized Enterprise and/or regional policies as applicable to ensure standardization and integration. Communicates new policies or policy revisions to key personnel.
  • Leads the workforce planning process and deploys systems and processes to align staffing with the budget, volumes, productivity, and patient acuity. Uses benchmarking tools to monitor staffing and manages staffing levels to the appropriate Enterprise labor productivity policies. Approves new position requests, including physicians and advanced practice providers, following financial review.
  • Develops and guides direct reports to increase performance and engaegment and ensure a strong team orientated environment
  • Ensures the organizational vision, values, goals, and objectives are transformed into daily operations resulting high quality outcomes in an efficient, effective, and patient and family centered environment.
  • Works collaboratively with the medical staff, nursing leadership, and clinical/financial/ operational leaders to deliver cost effective, high quality clinical services and outcomes in partnership with affiliate organizations and providers that optimize the delivery of patient care.
  • Identifies opportunities to grow the business, enhance revenue, and align with key physicians and groups. Implements appropriate action plans with regional leadership team.
  • Models interactions with colleagues, patients, visitors, and other staff in a manner consistent with the values of Jefferson and its Code of Conduct.
  • Masterrsquo;s Degree required
  • Minimum of five years managerial experience in business or healthcare administration to include demonstration of advanced knowledge and application of management skills, medical staff relations, financial management, business development, and clinical department operations.
  • Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance, hold people accountable for achieving deliverable metrics, encourage team participation, and motivate others through a shared vision.
