Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an exceptional candidate with 5-10 years of experience to serve as a Hydrologic and Hydraulic/Water Resources Engineer to work in our Eastern, Central, or Western PA locations. This candidate should have experience on floodplain studies and H&H Reports for Penn DOT projects. Candidates will analyze and review hydrologic and hydraulic models and computations for bridge replacement projects and write the Hydrologic and Hydraulic Reports.

Responsibilities
    Perform site visits to confirm existing conditions and document past flood history.
  • Conduct and review hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, using a variety of techniques and models (e.g., HEC-HMS, regression equations, gage analyses, HEC-RAS, FLO 2D).
  • Prepare written reports, documenting the hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for the existing conditions, proposed bridge or culvert replacement and any temporary construction conditions.
  • Perform quality reviews of H&H studies performed by others.
  • Prepare any necessary Chapter 105 or 404 permit applications for the project.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, with emphasis in water resources.
  • 5 to 10 years of water resources-related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with the client.
  • Proficiency in basic MS Office software.
  • E.I.T. certification required, PA P.E. preferred.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) desired.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team player.
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
