Acara Solutions is looking for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer for our Client located in Canonsburg, PA.

  • As an electrical engineer, you'll be a member of or lead a cross-functional team supporting the Torpedo program.
  • Habitually ahead of technology trends, with a background in testing, troubleshooting, and reading circuit card schematics.
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design.
  • Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits, including signal conditioning, power, analog-to-digital conversion, and communication.
  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware.
  • Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications.
  • Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions.
  • Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems.
  • Design and build prototype cable assemblies.
  • Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies.
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer.
  • Generate design and interface documentation.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Research & Development experience, including concept, design, modeling, prototyping, and testing.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in analog and digital circuit design, including signal integrity principles

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with MATLAB programming.
  • Proficient in using electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design.
  • Collaborative team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
  • Working knowledge of standard communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP
  • Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including the creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
