RHD is hiring for Life Skills Professionals at CORE!


RHD CORE is seeking a mission-driven individual to join our program located in the Homestead area. CORE stands for Capitalizing On a Recovery Environment and it is a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program for adult males. A Life Skills Professional is a direct service position that provides support, engagement, and encouragement to persons involved in the CORE program. The Life Skills Professional supports persons involved in the program with developing routines and life skills and are available for support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Position Summary

The Life Skills Professional is responsible for client support through direct interaction throughout shift; collaboratively and actively assisting and supporting the participants of the program in the development of Life/Recovery Support/Coping/Daily living skills. Facilitate and document Life Skills groups, implementing the activities on the monthly calendar; promote and enhance the informed culture of the program and the establishment and attainment of goals for the residents of the program.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Facilitation and documentation of Life Skills groups. Documentation of shift notes and incident reports.
  • Engaging with residents and supporting them in developing and utilizing positive coping skills and other relevant life skills to aid in their recovery.
  • Completion of shift responsibility checklist (varies among shifts), including assisting residents with meal preparation as needed.
  • Support residents in maintaining the physical plant by monitoring and supporting individuals with their household chores.
  • Help to ensure adherence to the daily schedule of groups and activities by utilizing time management skills.
  • Report to Office Manager with maintenance and supply needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possess High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years of experience in the social service field. CPRP, CPS, WRAP trained, a plus.
  • Must possess a current valid State Driver's License

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, use hand to find, handle feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, listen, taste, and smell. The job also requires employees to lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs. The individual must be able to manager stairs on a frequent basis.
