Please note that this position will supervise the 2nd shift which runs from 2:00pm - 10:00pm.

Summary:

The Hershey Company Robinson plant is a non-union plant producing products such as PayDay, Heath, Skor, Milk Duds, Whoppers & Reese's Pieces in a high-speed complex environment.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will direct all functions of the maintenance workforce. This individual will ensure that maintenance work is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner while partnering with key plant production personnel to implement and drive best practices in safety, quality, maintenance processes, reliability, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis in a three-shift, seven day working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the hourly maintenance workforce - provide daily leadership to the hourly maintenance workforce through individual job assignments and monitoring the progress to completion. Ensure the workforce is provided with information/direction, adequate work time, tools, and guidance to work safely, perform a quality job and work efficiently. Ensure that the workforce follows all plant guidelines for Safety, Quality, GMPs, SAP PM processes, time confirmations, monthly meetings, and other procedures.
  • Monitor the plant CMMS - ensure all data collected by employees is accurate and complete when entered into the SAP PM system. Audit equipment BOM and PM work instructions for accuracy. Support the activities of the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to ensure all BOM's and PM are updated, required PMs are completed as scheduled and plant backlog is properly managed.
  • Asset Reliability - ensure asset reliability through TPM, Lean, Autonomous Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and other reliability tools.
  • Business Unit Support - Provide daily technical and troubleshooting expertise to the assigned Business Unit.
  • Support the maintenance workforce - assist in leadership/administration for maintenance technician career development. Understand and initiate the maintenance personnel schedule and maintain an accurate time management system/payroll. Develop and coordinate training of basic mechanical and safety skills.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  • B.S. Degree in Asset Reliability or Engineering related field strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of related maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Fluent with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Problem Solving methods.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP or other CMMS system.
  • Fluent with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication, Leadership, Coaching and change management skills.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to implement continuous improvements projects.
  • Willing to work all three shifts including overtime to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

This job has responsibilities that encompass food safety and food quality. Follow food safety and quality control standards, safety regulations, and standard operational methods and procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a maintenance supervisory capacity.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required; food manufacturing preferred.
