Leybold USA Summer Systems & Solutions Design Engineer Intern

Location: Export, PA 15632

Wage: $21 per hour

In-Office Workdays- M-F 8am to 5pm EST

Date: June 10 - August 16, 2024

(must reside within a reasonable commute to the office)

We are seeking a STEM university student to provide support to the Systems + Solutions organization in Export, PA from June 10 -August 9th 2024.

Scope of the job

The scope includes the following areas of the business:

  • Front End - Proposal Generation: - Review inquiries from the field and conceive vacuum systems offering solutions best suited for the application, maximizing value and end-user lowest cost of ownership. Determine engineering concept, associated costing, and lead times.
  • Project Execution
  • Detailed Engineering - Once an order is received, transform concept into a detailed engineering solution, including drawings, BOMs and purchasing descriptions of the third-party value-added items
  • Sourcing and Planning - Procure all third-party items, driving for best quality, lowest cost, and shortest lead time. Place inter-company orders for vacuum pumps, blowers and other Atlas Copco manufactured items. Plan material receipt, assembly and testing activities utilizing all available processes and SAP ERP tools to ensure meeting lead time obligations.

While performing the duties of this job, you are occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. You are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. You are occasionally at risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within office building, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5-10 pounds. Your work will be frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position could require occasional travel up to 5% domestically.

This position requires 100% in office work.
