Job Description

Harmony Biosciences is recruiting for a Senior Accountant in our Plymouth Meeting, PA location. In this role you will be responsible for preparing journal entries and completing assigned account reconciliations while being thorough in the work to ensure accurate financial transactions. This role requires communication with a number of departments so strong communication skills are critical. Candidates must possesses excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Complete account reconciliations for several general ledger balances including cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, fixed assets, inventory, leases, other current assets.
  • Serve as a backup for AP administrator.
  • Assist with Concur expense management.
  • Reconcile trade AP/ AR balances.
  • Assist with external and internal auditor requests for supporting documentation during quarterly and annual audits.
  • Make suggestions and implement process improvements.
  • In addition to defined responsibilities, this role will also be responsible for ad-hoc requests and project work
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in Accounting and/or Auditing roles
  • BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Financial / ERP Systems
  • High ethical & quality standards and lives them through actions and communication
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently with minimal guidance while simultaneously covering multi-varied project responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for continual improvement with a proven track record as a proficient solver of complex problems
  • Strong computer, organizational, and analytical skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to colleagues, business partners, stakeholders and upper management across varied styles and cultures
  • Must think critically and creatively, and be able to determine appropriate resources for resolution of problems and have strong organizational and planning skills

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Travel is estimated to be 5% of the time for this position.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment can vary from relatively quiet (office) to moderate (manufacturing). Hearing protection will be required at times.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision.
  • Manual dexterity required to use computers, tablets, and cell phone.
  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods.
