Power Engineer


Position Summary:
We are seeking a driven Power Engineer to join our team based in Philadelphia, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and testing of Advanced Electrical Power Systems for US Navy ship programs. If you are passionate about hands-on power systems work, have previous experience with power electronics and related equipment, and thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, then you could be the perfect fit for this role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Work with a diverse range of equipment including DC/DC and AC/DC solid-state converters, solid-state relays, motor drives, transfer switches, and overcurrent protection.
  • Oversee and facilitate shipboard preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Interface with multidisciplinary engineering groups to coordinate technical requirements and product integrity
  • Perform engineering projects related to electrical power distribution systems, electric drives, and solid-state converters.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering required
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in the field of Power Electronics
  • Ability to learn quickly and work on several projects concurrently
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management experience is a plus
Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and prolonged sitting
  • Ability to carry up to 50lbs and traverse a shipboard environment
  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax, and other office equipment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
